August Fifth

It's hot today. The kind of hot where it's nearly 8pm and still 103 out. Tomorrow's high is 110. But at least there is a slight chance of rain next weekend... 5 whole days away.

Tomorrow I will be the proud parent of a second grader and a sixth grader! It's the official start of the school year! I'm excited and nervous. I also can't wait to get back into a routine. I thrive a little better in routine. And yes, there will be plenty of pictures! 

I didn't get any excercise in today, but I still ate well. I have to admit that cake just isn't that great when you're so mentally focused on eating right and feeling better. Also, it was hot today. Did I mention that? It's hard to have an appetite while sweating like a whore in church and with the 120 ounces of water I dank. That's right, almost a damn gallon of water. And a giant iced tea in the afternoon because I needed something with flavor. I feel like a cow. Did you know that cows can drink over 20 gallons of water on a hot day? I know, because I am part cow today.

It's time to put my calfs to bed. Because, school!!! Yay!!

My workout motivation just arrived last night by the case full. Girl Scout Cookie season is in full swing and I love Thin Mints as much as I love drinking and cursing. So, that's an awful lot. Hello New Year, Bye Bye Tonsils!

We've started off this year with a BANG! Well, kind of. I guess? I don't do resolutions. But, I did set new ground rules for behavior around here.  Bella had been getting a weekly allowance since she was 3 for doing chores around the house. Lately, the allure of doing chores for allowance has diminished and the Christmas brattiness had been setting in. I came up with a new plan as of New Years. For every time Bella acts up, has a tantrum (apparently she hasn't outgrown these) or talks back, she loses a toy. I keep a big box in a storage area to put them in. For each day she completes her chores (usually only on Wednesdays and Sundays), she gets to get a toy back. Plus, at the end of the month, if she had done her chores and hasn't lost too many more toys, she gets an allowance. She seems to like this idea so far and hasn't lost many toys this year yet.  As for her brother, he's still too little to understand a lot of rules. But, we do make him pick up h

That episode of Sponge Bob where  Sponge Bob and Patrick are selling chocolate bars and that one crazy fish dude is chasing them and yelling "Chocolate!" I'm the crazy fish dude. But I have an accomplice. I guess hump day really needs to happen...... If you know what I mean.
